Bi-Annual ConferencesFeatured

In line with the postponement of a physical ReDi conference to 2022, the awarding of the Anders Bäckström Prize has been accordingly moved to 2022. Thus, new applications are welcome until 30 November, 2021.

Professor emeritus in the Sociology of Religion Anders Bäckström (Uppsala University) has founded a fund to support research on diaconia, Christian social practice, welfare and religion, and in particular young researchers in this field. The Anders Bäckström Fund is placed at Diakonhjemmet foundation in Oslo/Norway. The board of the Anders Bäckström Fund announced in 2018 for the first time an award for an excellent master thesis in the field of diaconal studies and welfare and religion. This prize, the Anders Bäckström Prize, will be awarded for the second time during the conference of the International Society for the Research and Study of Diaconia and Christian Social Practice (ReDi) in September 2022 in Oslo/Norway. The deadline for submissions has been moved to 30 November 2021.
